PT Kalbe Farma, a leading healthcare company, showcased its commitment to AI innovation by participating in the 20th Pacific Rim International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (PRICAI-2023) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The hybrid conference facilitated both in-person and virtual participation, encouraging knowledge exchange and collaboration in AI research and professional development.


The Corporate Digital Technology (CDT) division led key tutorials at PRICAI-2023, focusing on practical AI applications. One tutorial covered reinforcement learning (RL) for digital business, teaching participants how to apply RL in online advertising and inventory management. Another tutorial introduced large language models (LLMs), focusing on Alpaca and Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) techniques for training domain-specific models.

Edwin Simjaya is an AI expert and currently serves as the Head of AI & Software Center. With over 15 years of experience in software engineering and notable achievements in the field, Edwin has established himself as a professional in AI. 

Notably, he led the implementation of an AI Augmented Nutrigenomic Algorithm utilizing Large Language Models (LLM), revolutionizing the field. Additionally, Edwin manages Kalbe Digital University content and implementation and has delivered key projects for internal Kalbe.

Adhi Setiawan
AI Engineer

Adhi is an AI Engineer specializing in Reinforcement Learning with capability on computer vision and recommendation systems. With a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and programming, he designs and implements cutting-edge RL, computer vision, and recommender system models to solve problems.


Currently he doing research and has develop RL model with popular algorithm such as Deep Q-Learning, REINFORCE, PPO, to solve problem with RL.

Shinta R. Hanafia
AI Engineer

Shinta Roudlotul Hanafia is an accomplished AI Engineer with a passion for cutting-edge technologies. She holds a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Telkom University (2022), where she honed her skills in the intersection of AI and technology. Currently serving as an AI Engineer at Kalbe Farma, Shinta plays a role in the research and development of AI solutions for healthcare, with a primary focus on NLP applications.
